This Historic Day In Music: “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”

It was 34 years ago today,

“Sgt. Pepper” was the disc to play.

It never has gone out of style,

It’s still guaranteed to raise a smile.

So, let me send a thought to you,

Treat yourself and your ears:

Play it!

“Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”

P.S.: Play it loud.

P.S.S.: Check out my post for June 1, 2010 entitled: “A Splendid Time Is Guaranteed For All.”

What a great great album this is. I remember buying my first copy of it at the ol’ Woolworths on Water Street. That was about all we had in the area at that time that remotely resembled a record department.

I remember taking it home and playing it – loud – many times over that day. This album is a major part of the definitive soundtrack of
    our lives.

It is timeless, fun, and wonderful music.
