Don’t know every when or why
Some just leave me mystified
But I’d likely lack a single clue

Would my days still walk the walk,
Heed the signs and embrace the clock?
No doubt they’d sing a different tune

Each day, I’m thankful
Try to find the words
For all the angels
Who conspired to have our paths converge.

Who knows where I’d now call home
How far these feet might have roamed
How big a mess I’d have gotten into

Yes, I’d surely sing a lot more blues,

Once, To You

I gave my heart
Once to a woman
Way back beyond
So long ago.
Well, she’s still here
Stands right beside me
Still makes me smile
And brings me home.

We’ve seen our share
Up, down and sideways
Taken each turn
Along this road.
Made up our minds,
Fast lane or byway,
Right’s when we fight
Good’s what we hold.

Promises spoken
Solemn vows exchanged
Circles unbroken
Since that summer day.

Verses compelling,
Shared that afternoon
Simple, but telling
Timeless and true.

I gave my heart
Once to a woman
Way back beyond
