Baseball – at least for now – is back!
Yesterday – Thursday, July 23, 2020 – was the Official Opening Day of the 2020 American Major League Baseball Season.
But today – Friday, July 24, 2020 – is Opening Day 2020 for the only team that really matters (to me): the Boston Red Sox!
And I’m ready!
I’ve got the 60-game schedule printed and hanging on the front of the refrigerator.
I’ve got a picture I took at Fenway Park during a game I went to in August 2018 as the desktop image on my laptop.
I’ve got my gear on.
And I’ve got Steve Goodman and Jethro Burns cranked up on the jukebox.
Yeah, I’m ready.
GO RED SOX!!!!
So, who are you rootin’ for?
(That crackerjack rendition of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” is from Steve Goodman’s excellent 1984 album Affordable Art. Steve steps up to the plate on acoustic guitar and vocals with designated hitter Jethro Burns knocking it out of the park on mandolin.)
Great spirit, Eric. Can’t wait for next year when we can both witness all of what the Red Sox, and Boston, have to offer. 😊
Thanks, Jack! We’ll be back, I’m sure of it!
I watched my Dodgers last night win…great to have it back. My father was a Brooklyn Dodger fan with all Yankee fan brothers…he loved the underdog and Robinson…so I get it honestly.
The Dodgers should do well! They’ve got our former best player! I certainly hope everyone stays healthy enough for this “season” to continue on. We need some fun right now! Thanks for your comment!
Ever since Friendman took over the Dodgers he hasn’t been giving out huge FA contracts…he was patient and waited for his guy…Mookie was his guy. I really like Mookie…he is from the Nashville area and I remember him before he made it.
We do need this!
